As you know I’m very blunt and "says what I feels", lol. Truthfully, work/life balance health is very important to everyone. Whether you’re work a 9 to 5 job or a hard working small business owner, like me. You have to remember like the old saying goes "you can't be too busy making a living that you forget to have a life." I've had many people to run across and say to me “Nicki, I’m so inspire by how you do it all.”
I tell them, “Honey, let me explain this beautiful chaos…. It’s not easy but I make it work by treating my time health just as valuable as my money health. You can get money back if you lose it or spend it on something fabulous, but time …once its wasted, its gone forever.
As some of my parent readers know, kids grow up extremely fast. One thing we do know as parents, we can't rewind time… Plus why would you want to ? Have you met teenager when the Wifi is down ( Scary AF) ?! Seriously, it very important how you use it and count every precious seconds, minutes, and hours to the best of accuracy. If you ever felt "off balance" in you work/ Life health, there is ways to get your work /balance health back on track.
Here are a few tips to help get a healthy Work/ Life balance
1. Focus on planning your week out on your rest day.
That has become a ritual for me in more ways then one. Plan out your social events, family time, and goals for work daily. Make sure to always include phone calls to family and friends during the week Always make wiggle room for life's little hiccups by blocking out 30 mins max between task
2. Organize your task according to priority
Meaning don't put the "least to do list things" first. Put in order based on deadline and importance that week.
3. Always make room for family/Social life once a week
You mind, body, and soul will thank you for the recharge. If you think you cant, you are not trying hard
4. Unwind and make time to Exercise
A great stress reliever and great way to reconnect to your self care. Keep work out clothes nearby. A great 30 to 60 min sweat feast is good to get the gears going and de-stress.
Nice bubble baths/showers are a good balance to any day!!
5. Don't be perfect!! Take life one day at a time
Just as you read it, it will take practice to get healthy in this area. Just like it does to build strong muscles. Its a progress not perfection approach you must have to this area of life. Always make sure to stop and enjoy the little things.
I’m so stickler for time it’s in my small business, my home, and my social life. Its just a perfectionist side of me that I have no problem putting in check when adult life gets overwhelming. Just as you train your body and mind, you must train your perception of time management health. it will help you to carve out necessary time for your personal self care, family, and demands of you career without malfunctioning in the process. This health sector is just as to avoid stretching your self too thin. You can do it, because I believe in you!! SO go out their and show work/life balance who's boss!!
