The Taboo of the Pole

It always grinds my gears to see people turn their noses up at the idea of the pole without further questions

When I first started teaching pole many years ago, It never occurred to me how much of a taboo pole has. In my mind I was under the impression, if I found it on GOOGLE I guess it’s okay, right?

Wrong...

The first time I told a group of people what I do for a living - A pole Fitness instructor- Their faces were priceless and it took me a great while to understand why their response was more judgment then intrigued.

But as my generation would put it " they just being haters" but no most of them weren't they were more into the taboo of it all. They were curious but not in the realm where they felt comfortable to question their unknown knowledge to what we in the pole community call the Pole Universe.

People have their own perception of what is good and what is evil. Most people don’t actually know what the definition of good and evil is because someone else told them what they should believe about the world of good and evil. Which in my opinion, is very ignorant a hindering to a person. Don’t get me wrong as a parent it is your job to guide your children in the way they should go and grow but to push more opinion than the actual truth on another is just flat out wrong.

Now, enough of the rant back to the taboo of pole. There isn’t any. It’s all in one's mind that chooses to believe it is. I’m a firm believer in pole fitness rather than pole dancing because most things should not be shared with a crowd of people. Like for example "twerking" with all due respect, it is an art to most but that is something you would not find here as an actual class. "twerking' in my opinion and my experience with it is a sacred mating dance to seduce the desired party. That something I do not thrill to teach anyone. Because it’s not my style. Love it or hate, that’s my thing. But it’s no taboo to it, it’s not my style of teaching. I’m technically not a showboater when it comes to instructing a class

But in all twerking is not a taboo, it’s an art to many. You Love it or hate it, the world will keep on spinning regardless. Same for pole, there is no taboo in these art forms. What’s good for It always grinds my gears to see people turn their noses up at the idea of the pole without further questions

Now, enough of the rant back to the taboo of pole. There isn’t any. It’s all in one's mind that chooses to believe it is. I'm a firm believer in pole fitness rather than pole dancing because most things should not be shared with a crowd of people. Like for example "twerking" with all due respect it is an art ( hard working exotic dancers) to most but that is something you would not find here as an actual class unless you were training for exotic dancing. "Twerking' in my opinion and my experience with it is a sacred mating dance to seduce the desired party. That something I'm not thrilled to teach anyone that is just doing for fun.

But in all twerking is not a taboo, it’s an art to many. You Love it or hate it; the world will keep on spinning regardless. Same for pole, there is no taboo in these art forms. What’s good for one person may not be good for the next.  Neither have a taboo it’s all an opinion and morals game we play with one another.
